Week 12: Surrealistic parallax - Cinemagraph
Our final project for this module was to create a cinemagraph, which is a still image with minor, continuous movement. At first, I was rather stumped for ideas but after Mr. Hafiz played the music video for the Coldplay song "Up and Up" and I decided I would do it on something surrealistic. I liked the idea of playing around with train or airplane windows/doors and adding something outside like a galaxy or something bizarre and out of proportion like I saw in the music video. I was unable to find any good images that I could use. I also tried taking pictures from outside trains but that didn't go so well either.
After hunting for better ideas on Pinterest, I decided to do something involving combing a skyline and a galaxy together.

Week 13: Compositing
I started arranging and blending the photos of the galaxy and the skyline together to make it look more seamless. I wanted to use After Effects, but it started acting up and I couldn't place my files, so ended up doing the whole process in Photoshop instead.

Next, I had to find a way to animate an element. My initial idea was to go with something like jellyfish or turtles in the background but it didn't end up turning out the way I wanted it to.
Week 14: Adding video
I decided to add fireworks in the background because I felt like it was something that could loop seamlessly, yet work out with the composition. Since, I didn't have any short clips of fireworks that could be used here, I had to look online on Pexels for a short video.

It was difficult to make the explosions of the fireworks working around each other in a way that looked almost natural, and also have it on loop. I was afraid that it would be too long, as the original clip of fireworks around 10 seconds long on its own.
