Week 1
13/04/20
For our first class, we were given a briefing on the module and the client we'll be working with - ESPL, which is a platform for online sports tournaments. The company had not yet set up an application or website so we were given a few possible ideas for our project -
- Different types of trophies & tournaments
- Mobile app
- ESPL Player passport
- ESPL 2.0 - totally new way to access ESPL
- KBS & ESPL value proposition
My group (which comprised of Rausha, Yameen and I) decided to first do a bit of research into ESPL and similar gaming websites first.
Week 2
22/04/20
This week, we had our first group presentation, after which Mr. Shamsul gave us a lecture on Design Thinking.
We also had to work on our first exercise, which was to create a user journey map on Miro.
We decided to create one for the Grab app, to book a ride specifically. Below is our map -
Week 3
27/04/20
Our group held a presentation on User Personas this week. Below is our presentation -
For our second exercise, Mr. Shamsul told us to create a draft user persona for three different user groups for ESPL. Our user personas –
Before we proposed an idea, we decided to conduct research into the existing ESPL website to see where it could be improved and what areas we could focus on. We did a brief SWOT analysis and compared the website to that of other esports platforms and applications at the same time, which gave us some ideas on how to proceed.
Week 4
4/05/20
This week, we sent out our experience survey for the initial research. Below is a copy of the questionnaire -
Week 5
13/05/20
Once we were done with the survey, we had to conduct the user interviews. Since we weren't sure if our questions were relevant and appropriate, we confirmed with Mr. Razif and made some changes. Our interview sessions were divided into two, first the basic demographic questions to understand their background and gaming behaviour/preferences and the next few questions
Week 6
18/05/20
This week we presented our initial proposal to our lecturers and the client representative.
Week 7
27/05/20
Week 8
3/06/20
We continued working on the flowchart this week and figuring out what sections to include and how to them. This was our outcome for the flowchart –
Week 9
10/06/20
Once we finalised the flowchart, we started creating the wireframes first on Miro.

Week 10
15/06/20
Once our wireframes were approved, we started working on the low fidelity prototype on XD. This was essentially the same as our wireframes with some visuals included. We also linked the screens for user testing later.

Week 12
29/06/20
Week 13
8/07/20
Once we were done with the user testing, we consulted about our progress with Mr. Razif before proceeding to work on the high-fidelity prototype.

Week 15
Final submission - Pitch deck
FEEDBACK
Week 2
No feedback this week.
Week 3
Mr. Shamsul commented that our presentation was very comprehensive and gave a good idea of what a user persona is. He said it was good that we included a case study as well.
As for the proposal for our project, we were told we could proceed with the ideas we had after researching a bit more and working on the user journey map and the personas.
Week 4
Mr. Razif gave us some feedback on how to go about the user journey, how the changes we bring would improve the user experience and the resulting gain points. When creating the wireframe, he suggested looking into the information hierarchy to understand and to decide what will be our most important feature.
Week 6
Overall, proactive and defined the problem clearly. Content: Evident of data findings are presented and comprehensive. Comprehensive data findings. All the contents are clear, detail and extensive. In depth findings when conducting the interview. Problem statement is clear. Project goal is identified and well defined. User persona well created. Well constructed User Journey Map

We were suggested some changes for our flowchart and to ensure that the separate sections are connected where they need to be. We were told to look at some references to understand better.
Week 9
We were told to proceed with user testing but was advised against adding visuals for the user testing. But otherwise we were told to go with what we had since we didn't have much time.
Week 11
Mr. Shamsul said we could proceed to our final prototype after our user testing.
Week 13
For our final prototype, Mr. Razif suggested a few minor changes like adjusting the font sizes and the alignment.
Week 15
Specific feedback: For the final pitch, Mr. Shamsul said our presentation had a good flow and was comprehensive. Our clients, Mr. Jeff and mr. Lavin said our UI was one of the prettiest and they like how the gradient looked.
